My journey with music
Music has always been a central and valuable part of my life. I began formal piano lessons with my mother at the age of 8, although I had been playing by ear for several years prior. During my teens years I was active in competing in the National Guild Auditions, bi-annual recitals, playing for youth group worship, and playing on my church's worship team each week. I also played for my church's bell choir. I attended college at Eastern Washington University and graduated with a Bachelor's of Music in Piano Performance. During my college years, I also studied classical voice and choral music and toured internationally with the choir. Upon graduating I moved to Tucson, AZ and worked at the University of Arizona as an accompanist in the vocal department. I also opened my first private lesson studio. In 2020, my husband and I moved to Fort Wayne, IN where we have been establishing new roots as musicians. I taught my first piano lesson at the age of 7 and have been actively in teaching ever since. I truly believe that the love and skill of playing music must be shared.
